The stabbing happened at North 22nd and Diamond streets, with the male medic stabbed once in his chest and once in his hand at 6:28 a.m., according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
He was transported to Temple University Hospital in critical, but stable condition, police explained.
A suspect is in custody, according to police. The Central Detective Division is conducting an ongoing investigation.
